I only have extremely positive and complimentary comments to describe my recent experience with Heavenly Reminiscences. I can confidently highly recommend Heavenly Reminiscences for a great experience from beginning to end! From my first contact to obtain an estimate for the digital transfer to the final completion of the job, my experience was overwhelmingly positive, user friendly and excellent.
My ongoing communications with John Kolb, owner of Heavenly Reminiscences, were always informative, detailed, upbeat and consistently productive. John provided an exact cost estimate of my very large digital transfer of 12 reels of 8mm films into the cloud. The oldest films were 75 years old, the youngest 55 years old. These irreplaceable family treasures were treated with the utmost consideration and respect by Heavenly Reminiscences staff. I was continually kept apprised of the progress of the transfer.
Remarkably, despite the age of the films, 11 of the 12 reels were successfully transferred to the cloud with no significant technical issues. However, one reel presented immense challenges to make the transfer due to the very poor condition of the original 8 mm films. John and his staff made a concerted and determined effort to salvage as much of that film reel as possible. I was so impressed by the attention to detail, focus on task and exhaustive efforts Heavenly Reminiscences staff put forth on my films. I truly felt that John treated the films as if they were his own family’s special and unique history.
Prior to choosing Heavenly Reminiscences for a digital transfer job. I researched many companies advertising their transfer services. Some “charge by the foot of film “ which would have made my transfer exorbitantly expensive due to the quantity of my 20 years worth of family home movies. Other companies had hidden or unexpected excessive costs which only became known at the time of final billing when the transfer task was completed. Lastly, some other companies had non-responsive or non-existent customer service.
I communicated frequently with John during the entire transfer process. He was always responsive by email to my questions or requests for updates. He readily kept me up to date on the progress of the transfers. His prices are a flat, set rate for each reel, regardless of the length of film on a reel. His estimate will include any additional costs such as transfer to a thumb drive. Included in his price are addition of titles for each reel and return shipment to the customer of the original films following completion of the transfer job. So, the only upfront cost for the customer is the initial mailing shipment to Heavenly Reminiscences of the media to be transferred. Based on my research, Heavenly Reminiscences has the best prices for media transfers.
The finished transfers are exceptional. I am amazed at the clarity, detail and overall quality of the images, even on films which are now 75 years old. What a fantastic job Heavenly Reminiscences did with my old 8mm films. Be assured, Heavenly Reminiscences
will expertly and very competently handle any media transfer project you have!
I HIGHLY recommend Heavenly Reminiscences for any media transfers. They are honest, very hard working, responsive and considerate. In the world we live in a company which takes their work seriously and has the customer always in mind is a true rarity. Heavenly Reminiscences is the best!!
